Iran: Two Kurdish Prisoners were attacked inside jail

According to KMMK (Kurdistan Human Rights Group) media, Two Kurdish Prisoners were attacked inside central prison at Urmia city in Iran.

Mostafa Sabzi and Ali Yeganeh were stabbed by knife in ward 13, central Urmia prison. Ward 13 is dedicated to criminal prisoners, however Iranian authority under pretext of room limit and lack of enough jail cell, integrate political prisoners with criminal inmates. According to code of law, criminal prisoners’ unit is separated from political prisoners’ unit. According to same source, a group of criminal prisoners attached these political activists.

According to latest statistics, 70% of all political prisoners in Iran belong to Kurdish community.
